The National Appliance Repairs office received a call from a customer in Kilmainham Dublin 8 who reported that their Zanussi under counter fridge was leaking due to a dry cracked seal. The office asked the customer to provide the model details for the fridge so an estimate could be given on the cost of a replacement seal. The customer was advised of the quote and then asked for the seal to be ordered and for the job to go ahead. The technician ordered the seal and arranged a suitable time with the customer for a call out. The customer reported that their washing machine was not spinning during the cycle but would spin by hand. The office arranged a time with the customer for the following day to have the technician out to service the fridge freezer. He explained that normally the automatic defrost system in the freezer would thaw out the frozen condensation by allowing it to escape through the tube, but if the ice builds up then the water can freeze in the tube and block the system. So therefore the water ends up in the fridge. He then found the small drain hole in the back of the freezer an poured hot water down the tube to remove the blockage until the water ran freely. Then he was able to switch the refrigeration back on and it was back to full working order.

The National Appliance Repairs office received a call from a customer in Ratoath Co. Meath. The customer described that their Electrolux oven seal was lose around the door, this meant the door was not closing properly and heat was escaping. A suitable time was arranged with the customer for the technician out to the customers house the next afternoon. The technician arrived at the house and inspected the machine. The technician then removed the old silicone sealant from the oven, this has to be done before it can be reapplied. He then applied the new seal to the door and used clamps to hold the glass in place and to allow the seal to set. He explained to the customer that this may take 24 hours, he then arranged with the customer that he would come back 24 hours when the seal had set to reassemble the oven.  He did this and the oven was then back to full working order.
